Content Production

Produce a diverse range of content for organisations to improve their overall communication package. At the Design Thinkers Academy London this has involved launching and growing their first ever podcast series which now has over 20,000 listens; building their video channel to publicise their courses, doing complete videography for their projects; developing their blog content with original written material and commissioning others to contribute; capturing photography on open-courses and bespoke photography for international clients; and co-creating their Responsible Revolutions newsletter which hosts and shares the content and has grown to followers in the thousands. Due to my efforts the blog was recently named 14th best Design Thinking blog on the web by Feedspot. All this led to a 500% increase in Instagram followers and over an 800% increase in LinkedIn followers. As a direct result of this work, I helped dramatically increase the number of bookings to all their open courses, growing the number of courses we offered times three, all despite the marketing budget being slashed due to Covid-19. 

Videography

Produce and conduct a wide range of videos from organizations videos to course trailers, documentaries to ethnographic research. 

 

At DK&A this research was for clients including South Western Rail, Under Armour, EastWest Rail and more. This typically involves doing video intercepts or video interviews to get detailed insights from consumers, staff or stakeholders on a particular project. I then cut these into videos that are used to showcase projects to stakeholders. These videos have had huge impact in securing future funding and advancing projects. 

Ben was a lifesaver for my charity. We needed to create a compelling video to showcase our work to potential partners. Within a ridiculously quick timeframe he produced a few options for us to pick from. I cannot recommend his work highly enough!

Marketing Audits

Deliver bespoke audits of companies entire online presence to improve their offering and increase exposure, sales & performance. This involves reviewing businesses websites and social media platforms to analyse where they are under-performing and opportunities to improve. I then help organise or produce the required websites, website improvements, marketing content, videos or more to put the audit into action and enact immediate improvements.

 

Previous clients include: psychotherapists, sports coaches, academics, yoga studios, hospitality and more. 

Previous clients and organisations from the worlds of therapy, baseball, sociology, yoga and more. 

Recently built the entire online and marketing comms for Villa Rosa. Since launch the house has been featured in national magazines, on the most popular national social media accounts and by designers. Due to these marketing efforts it regularly sells out. 

Author Publicist & Marketing

As a book publicist and marketer I have helped clients books reach #1 ranking on Amazon across numerous categories. My work includes securing publicity for the book via podcasts, interviews, reviews and more, managing and creating social media, as well as making unique content including book trailers and author websites to grow exposure. 

Previous clients include books published by Columbia University Press including The Experimentation Field Book for the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.

Ben’s work transformed our communications. From videos to photography, annual reports to product catalogues, fundraising campaigns to web design, it played a vital role in bringing our work to a wider audience.

 

Julia Harriman, Founder, La Choza Chula

Organisation Communications

Manage and deliver full communications package, including strategy, budgetting and production. For examples, upon arrival at Guatemalan social enterprise, La Choza Chula, the organisation was run by 3 people, with minimal online presence. Over my time there, including my period as one of the Directors for the organisation, I transformed communications for the entire organisation. This involved leading brand development, launching a web presence including the co-build of a new website, social media, videography, photography, graphic design, online fundraisers and more. In my first year as one of the co-directors we led a 250% net profit increase with the improved communications playing a vital role as I organically increased Instagram and Facebook followers by over 1000% in three years and led to a 45% increase in sales of our local products (16/17). 

Research Reports

Using an educational background in history and journalism, deliver high-quality desktop and ethnographic research, for clients including Richemont, Cartier, Arup, HS2, SWR and more.

 

At DK&A's, I was a lead responsible for their Sustainable Innovators Research Toolkit, to be used on their Design Sprint Camp: The Climate Challenge. This included conducting video interviews and research with participants and then synthesising that research to produce findings that helped guide the course. Produced and edited complimentary research video, co-created personas and user-journeys using Design Thinking, conducted desktop research and co-created the entire toolkit. The document was shared widely by both DK&A and The Carbon Trust at international events.

Project Management

Manage, guide and deliver holistic brand strategy and development. For example, I led the development of both the DK&A and Design Thinkers Academy London brands, to try unify them and bring them closer together. Through extensive research and creative development, a new collective mission, vision and identity that launched the new Responsible Revolutions initiative was born. These are now used by both brands and the Responsible Revolutions initiative was showcased at their Design Sprint Camp, and spearheaded the brands' newsletters and has spread as a hashtag and movement across other companies.

 

I then project managed the next stage of brand development, working closely with award winning creative directors, All You Can Eat Ltd, to produce a complete new brand identity for DK&A and DTA.

Fundraising 

Organised and ran four successful fundraisers across the UK and Guatemalan. This includes conception of fundraiser, supporting videos and marketing activity. Then helped host the fundraiser with events including live music, trivia nights and games. Managed donations and database management.
